The rules, philosophies and procedures that CR Warriors Baseball will operate under are outlined below. Please read it carefully, as we want you to be fully aware of what is required of our members for the upcoming 2011 season.

A. FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS

Each player is responsible for fees of $300.00 (11U and above) or $225.00 for the 10U and under players.  Full remittance is due prior to October 31, 2011.  Payment can be made via PayPal (using our secure, on-line system), check or money order (payable to JWDS).

Players’ fees cover the expense of uniforms, equipment, insurance, indoor practice facility, league fees, umpires, and office/advertising expenses. Fees for additional tournament expenses will be collected on a case-by-case basis.

These fees are non-refundable in cases of players who voluntarily choose to leave the CR Warriors Baseball program or are dismissed from the team due for reasons of rules violations or disciplinary issues.

When a CR Warriors Baseball team is playing out of town, each parent is responsible for all meals and lodging. If the parents are unable to accompany their child out of town, it is the responsibility of the parents to arrange with another CR Warriors Baseball family to house, feed and transport your child; including all financial responsibilities to care for that player. This is not the responsibility of the coaches or CR Warriors Baseball.

B. PARENTAL PARTICIPATION

The success of CR Warriors Baseball depends on the commitment of everyone in the organization. Parents are encouraged to attend practices and games. You may volunteer and you should expect to be asked to help with practice drills, score keeping, umpiring, etc.

Coaching responsibilities are assigned to officially designated persons only. During games, parents/guardians and fans shall lend encouragement only.

C. PARENTS CODE OF CONDUCT

Players selected to be a member of a CR Warriors Baseball team are not selected on talent alone. Parental/guardian support is also considered. CR Warriors Baseball expects parents/guardians to support the organization, its coaches and players.

We want CR Warriors Baseball to be a first-class organization. Parents, relatives and friends attending games shall not abuse umpires, opposing coaches or players, as well as our own players or coaches in any way.

During games, parents are respectfully asked to remain a good distance from the dugouts unless asked by the coach. Players are instructed not to talk to their parents or friends while a game is in progress. Please allow the only coaching contact with players during a game to be by the coaching staff.

Any parent challenging the authority of a CR Warriors Baseball coach without following the grievance procedure outlined below will be asked to leave the team. Verbal or physical abuse of a coach will not be tolerated.

Parents should, when at all possible, not plan vacations during our playing part of the season. The season generally runs from the middle of April to the middle of July. Our roster size does not allow for absenteeism.

D. COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT

Coaches will, at all times, have the safety and general well being of the players in mind. Coaches will not intimidate, embarrass or ridicule players. However, this does not mean your son will never hear his coaches raise their voices towards them and this does not mean your son will not be verbally or psychologically motivated. Coaches will strive to develop players into young men with sound values, a competitive spirit and a great work ethic, while at the same time, making them better baseball players and developing their love for the game.

The CR Warriors do not set guidelines for player participation in games, however, coaches will strive to have every player participate in every game. Playing time is not solely based on a player’s ability. Coaches are authorized to use playing time as a reward for hard work, good attendance and positive attitudes. There should be no expectation of equal playing time in tournaments.

Coaches are asked to utilize the talents and abilities of everyone associated with their team; this includes parents as well as other representatives of the CR Warriors.

Coaches are expected to aid other CR Warrior teams and assist all CR Warrior functions including, but not limited to: tryouts, winter workouts, tournaments, etc.

Coaches are not permitted to use alcohol or any type of tobacco product during CR Warrior games or practices.

E. PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT

Every member of the CR Warriors should recognize that it is a privilege and a responsibility to represent the CR Warriors, just as the CR Warriors recognize that it is a privilege to have you as a part of the CR Warriors. This applies to appearance, conduct, habits and performance. We expect players to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects a positive image to themselves, their teammates, their coaches and the CR Warriors.

CR Warrior representatives will not tell a player or family member that they cannot play Little League or other sports. However, it is to be understood by the player as well as his parents, when a conflict arises with CR Warrior games and other activities, the decision expected of the player and parents is to attend the CR Warrior game (translation: CR Warriors Baseball has priority).

When playing for the CR Warriors, a 100% commitment is required. Part-time player or alternates are not the practice of this organization.

Players shall not argue with coaches, parents, or umpires for any reason. If these actions become a continuing problem, the player will be asked to leave the team.

Foul language or profanity will not be tolerated.

Good sportsmanship is a quality that is exemplified by our players. Taunting of any type will not be tolerated.

Self-indulgence by players, such as hanging one’s head after an error or mental mistake, pouting because of a personal failure, or throwing equipment on the field or in the dugout has no place on our teams.

Players in violation of any of these expectations will be automatically benched for one inning. Longer punishments are up to the coach’s discretion.

F. UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT

Each player will be issued uniforms, which will include (pending finalization for the 2012 season):

Jersey

Pants

Cap

Each player is required to provide his own glove, socks, baseball shoes, protective wear (cup), red belt, batting gloves and bat (some team bats will be available).  NOTE: Prior to purchasing personal equipment, it is strongly recommended to seek out the advice of the coach or a CR Warriors board member about size, color, material, etc.  This is especially true for personal bats for the 2012 season due to new USSSA regulations governing bat performance.

As stipulated above, uniforms will not be issued to a player until that player’s fees are paid in full.

If you decide to play for another team, no part of the CR Warriors uniform is to be worn for that other team’s games or practices.

G. FUNDRAISING

Fundraising is a vital part of the CR Warriors’ existence. There are two different types of fundraising;

1- Organizational – The revenue goes into the Junior Warriors’ general account.

2- Team – The revenue goes into that particular team’s account, to help with tournament fees, etc.

CR Warrior players/families shall actively participate in organizational fundraising events each year. Each event will have minimum requirements for each player/family to fulfill.
